It is with great sadness that we must announce the passing of Botond Kovacs, who passed away on Tuesday, October 8th, 2024, after a long illness.
Botond was a true friend of EMHF, representing Hungary both at General Assemblies and also at meetings of the European Pony Racing Association. Pony Racing was a particular passion of Botond's and it was at his instigation that Hungary hosted the first ever EPRA Annual Meeting, in 2022 in Budapest.
Botond was ever stylish - in dress, speech and comportment - and an impressive ambassador for Hungarian racing. Our thoughts are with his widow, Marta, and son, Fulop, both of whom we had the pleasure of seeing at this year's EPRA meeting in Ascot.
